DECEMBER 2017 - British Airways Launching Dublin to Manchester Route
As per Dublin Airport.com:
May 2018 will see the launch of a weekly Dublin to Manchester service by British Airways. The route will be operated by an ERJ-190 aircraft.
On top of this, BA will increase frequency on its London City service from 32 - 36 flights per week.

September 1st 2017 - New Aer Lingus service to Miami
As per Dublin Airport.com:
Dublin Airport is delighted to welcome the launch of Aer Lingus’ new direct transatlantic service to Miami.
Aer Lingus will operate its new three times weekly service on a year-round basis on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Departing Dublin Airport at 3pm, arriving in Miami at 7.15pm, same day.
Departing Miami at 9.10pm, arriving Dublin Airport 10.35am, the next day.
Miami is Aer Lingus’ tenth route to North America from Dublin Airport.
August 31st 2017 - Cathay Pacific announces Dublin-Hong Kong Route
As per Dublin Airport.com:
Cathay Pacific has announced that it will operate a new direct Dublin-Hong Kong service four times per week from next June.
The new year-round service will be Dublin Airport’s first ever direct route to the Asia-Pacific region and is a major milestone for the airport and the entire Irish economy.
The Dublin flight will arrive in Hong Kong early in the morning local time, providing a wide range of connecting options with flights to mainland China, Japan, Korea, South-East Asia and Australia on the Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon networks.
Cathay Pacific will operate the new Dublin-Hong Kong service with an Airbus A350-900 aircraft in a three class configuration. Starting June 2, 2018, the route will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
In summer, the flight will depart Dublin at 11.55, arriving in Hong Kong at 07.05. The return flight will depart Hong Kong at 00.50, arriving in Dublin at 06.45. In winter, the flight will depart Dublin at 11.00, arriving in Hong Kong at 07.30. The return flight will depart Hong Kong at 00.15 and arrive in Dublin at 05.30.
July 1st 2017 - Two new transatlantic services launched by Norwegian

Dublin Airport is delighted to welcome the launch of Norwegian Airlines’ two new transatlantic services to Stewart International and Providence, Rhode Island this weekend.
Norwegian is operating a total of 12 transatlantic flights per week to the US east coast comprising seven daily flights to Stewart International from today, Saturday July 1 and a five times weekly service to Providence, Rhode Island commencing tomorrow, Sunday July 2.
Norwegian will operate the route with a Boeing 737 MAX aircraft''.

June 12th 2017 - Dublin-Doha service launched today by Qatar Airways

Dublin Airport is delighted to welcome Qatar Airways’ new daily service between Dublin and Doha.
To celebrate this special occasion, the airline flew its new generation Airbus 350 aircraft to Dublin for the inaugural flight. This was the first time an Airbus A350 had operated a scheduled service to Dublin. From tomorrow onwards, Qatar will operate its daily Dublin service with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

More than 1.3 million extra seats have been added across Dublin Airport’s route network this summer, which is a 6% increase in capacity compared to last year.
Five new long haul routes will be launched in the coming weeks with Aer Lingus adding Miami to its route network, Delta Air Lines starting new services to Boston, and Norwegian launching two new routes to the US - to Stewart International New York State and Providence, Rhode Island. Dublin Airport will also welcome a major new airline, Qatar Airways when it starts its new direct daily route to Doha in the Persian Gulf.

May 31st 2016 - 10 Years of Turkish Airlines at Dublin Airport
Today, Turkish Airlines celebrates 10 years of flying between Dublin and Istanbul.
As per Dublin Airport.com:
"The airline first started flight operations in summer 2006 with a twice weekly year-round service. In 2009, Turkish Airlines increased its flight operations to a daily service and further growth in passenger numbers saw the airline expand again last year as it moved to double daily flights between the two cities."

April 7th 2016 - New Runway to be built at Dublin Airport
Great news today as it was announced that the Daa is progressing its plans to deliver a new runway for Dublin Airport.
As per Dublin Airport.com:
"The 3,110 metre runway will be built 1.6km north of the existing main runway and is expected to be delivered in 2020.
Dublin Airport is investing in the region of €320 million in this multi-faceted project which will comprise multiple contracts and packages of works.
Dublin Airport received planning permission in August 2007 to build a new runway, but the plans were put on hold due to the economic downturn and subsequent fall in passenger numbers.
However, the recovery in passenger numbers, particularly in the past two years, has been significant. The continuation of growth at Dublin Airport is dependent on having sufficient capacity available to satisfy future demand".

Dublin Airport are offering direct flights to over 170 destinations in 38 countries in four continents and passenger numbers are expected to rise even further with 13 new routes/services still to comence this year.

March 20th 2015 - Ethiopian Airlines B787 Dreamliner visits Dublin on a press visit
An Ethiopian B787 arrived into Dublin Airport on 20th March on a press visit ahead of its inaugural flight to Los Angeles this summer 2015. A large amount of planespotters turned up to see it at Dublin aswell which was great to see.
The route launches 20th June with the B787.

November 24th 2014 - United Airlines adds Chicago to Dublin routes for Summer 2015
United Airlines that it will introduce a daily flight from Dublin to Chicago, June to August 2015.
The flight to Chicago will depart Dublin Airport daily at 09.50am, arriving in Chicago at 12.15pm the same day. The return flight will depart Chicago at 18.05pm arriving in Dublin Airport 07.35am.
The route will be operated by a Boeing 757-200 aircraft.

October 10th 2014 - Dublin Airport welcomes new routes to Los Angeles And Addis Ababa
Ethiopian Airlines is to launch a new route from Addis Ababa to Los Angeles via Dublin from next summer.
Ethiopian will operate three return flights per week from Addis Ababa to Los Angeles via Dublin using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft will have a two-hour stopover in Dublin
The new routes will commence on June 15th 2015.

October 5th 2014 - WOW air Launches New Dublin-Reykjavik Service
Icelandic carrier WOW air is to launch a new year-round Dublin-Reykjavik service from next summer. WOW will fly three times per week between Dublin and Reykjavik from next June, and will operate the first scheduled service between the two cities. WOW, which started flying in May 2012, is a low-cost carrier that currently operates 16 routes from its home base at Keflavik Airport in Iceland. April 14th 2014 - Aer Lingus Launches Dublin-Toronto Service
Aer Lingus has today launched the Dublin - Toronto service.
The new service will operate year-round with a daily flight between Dublin and Toronto during the summer season and up to four times per week during the winter months.
A B757 (EI-LBT) has been leased from Air Contractors to serve the route.
Aer Lingus joins Air Canada rouge and Air Transat on the Toronto route. Air Transat will also fly to Montreal and WestJet will commence services to St. John’s in Newfoundland in June using an B737.

November 15th 2013 - WestJet welcomes Dublin to their network from 2014
WestJet have announced Dublin, Ireland as the airline's first transatlantic destination with a seasonal daily service from June 15th 2014 to October 5th 2014, with non-stop flights to Dublin from St. John's, Newfoundland and direct (same-aircraft) flights from Toronto using a B737-700NG.
Connections from across WestJet's network will also be available.
Westjet will be the fourth airline operating services to Canada from Dublin in 2014, with Air Canada operating to Toronto, Air Transat operating to Montreal & Toronto and Aer Lingus operating to Toronto from April 21st.

September 16th 2013 - Dublin Flightfest 2013 a massive success!
Over 130,000 people filled up the banks of the River Liffey to watch one of the most anticipated events in Irish Aviation history on September 15th 2013!
More than 25 aircraft including British Airways' newest superjumbo (Pictured left), Etihad's A340-600 in Formula 1 titles and the classic B-17 flew up the River Liffey at 800ft in what was a truely spectacular event!
The weather improved as the event began and it ended up being a great afternoon for viewing and photographing, and a great day out for everybody present!

DAA have announced that Transatlantic traffic at Dublin Airport will set a new record this year with more than 1.8 million passengers expected to travel on flights between North America and Dublin during 2013.
The growth in transatlantic traffic at Dublin Airport is likely to continue next year, as the pipeline for new North American routes is already strong. Aer Lingus will have new services to San Francisco and Toronto, and Air Canada Rouge will also be launching a new year-round service to Toronto in 2014.

Today marks 25 years of Delta Airlines flying to Dublin Airport.
The maiden flight to Dublin was in June 1988 via Shannon from Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport using a L-1011 and is now the route is operated daily using an A330-200.
